« on: November 02, 2013, 04:00:58 PM »
If you ride flat your probably a bit of a shoe whore? Let me know what your favorite shoes for flatland BMX are?

I'm going to start of by saying Orchid Vandever's by far.

Adidas centennial with the leather upper and neon green gum sole. Seriously the best by far.

. Heres a thread

I got some almond belmonts. No longer in production unfortunately.
Best shoes for me yet. Ankle protection laces do up snug around my foot.
Toe is a little bit slippery i found at first. But this also led me to learn pivots on the second day of having them.

There is no best anything.  Depends on your style of riding and generation.

I will give you that, i LOVED those Shoes! I rode in them for a couple of years (Street) & wore them day in day out. I took good care of them they were Black & Tiffany Blue, i got them on sale in the Vans store that used to be in our "Famous" shopping village till they were deemed to down market for the place!!! GRRR!! But they were IN SANELY comfortable & in the end my friends kept telling me they looked tatty haha & my Parents said to me you can't keep wearing them & offered to buy me a new pair of shoes on the condition i threw my beloved Black & Tiffany Blue Vans away :'(

Whatever etnies you buy, get those with double row of stitching in the toe-cap area, where the uppers transit to the front of the sole. You need the stitching reinforcement because of all the pivoting and footjams riders do while riding; non-stitched toe caps split apart within weeks/ week of use, making a "crocodile" out of your shoe.

Anyone tried these etnies out? Any good?

I like the Etnies Number Mids but others have said the soles are soft and not the best for pivoting. They are comfy and last me about 6 months.

These would be just the ticket then, being triple stitched where it counts.

Not pivoting much, so thanks for the feedback!

I just donated to mine to goodwill today. They were good for about two sessions and useless after that. If they had made the sole stiff they would be decent, but they were awful.
