Need Freecoaster Help
« on: June 16, 2015, 04:04:53 AM »
I have a KHE Greyhound Street freecoaster.  The problem I am having is that when rolling backwards with feet on the pedals, the cranks will start backpedaling.  I've tried adjusting the slack with no improvement.  I have re-greased the clutch, driver, and hub shell.

I'm new to freecoasters so any help is appreciated.

I haven't checked them.  What should I be looking for?

I had this problem when i first switch from Dirt to Flat. jumped in no understanding of coasters.
I set mine to full slack now. Try before you setup for a trick. Overcrack a bit and back pedal to where you want the pedals to be positioned. The back pedaling disengages the coaster. It doesn't have to be much. 1/8 a crank.
I think that's the best way to describe it.

My coaster when first built came with no slack at all. So if you find you need it you and the back pedaling before setting pedal position isn't helping.

I ride the old geisha street coaster.
It should be simple to understand once you pop it apart, search a bit more you may find a better tutorial.

or Watch this how to, I haven't but the title makes sense
