Finally Finished My First Build
« on: May 23, 2009, 03:57:16 PM »
So I finally finished my bike that I've been building up for the past few months.  I painted the frame and stem and got everything else on here or FF.  It's not a pro setup, but it's pretty decent for where I'm at.

Frame: DK signal
Wheels:  Hoffman Generator w/ Primo SOB and Nankai Freecoaster
Tires:  Odyssey FreqG P-lytes
Cranks:  Suelo 160mm w/ 18t sprocket
Pedals:  Odyssey Twisted PC
Stem:  Hart Null Offset
Bars:  KHE Bram Bars
Pegs:  Plegs
Brake:  Tektro lever and Odyssey Evo2
Grip: ODI grips w/ St. Martin Barends
Seat:  Macneil Pivotal and Macneil Pivotal Post
Chain:  Shadow Conspiracy Half Link
Weighs in at about 25-26 lbs.

Yeah it rides really well.  I've been on a freestyle bike for 6 months, so it's quite a bit easier to do stuff on this bike.

Yeah I know, but I don't have a chain breaker, so after I got it on (which took like an hour b/c the stupid pins in the chain were so tight) I didn't care.  And going to the bike shop would cost like $15 for them to do it, which I could just buy a new chain for that much.

Looks good, I like the look of a street bike in flat trim.  I just finished my first build as well, need to get pics up.  The chain tool was a great investment, made things much easier.  That's a sweet chain and a chain tool should be like five bucks.  Worth it to salvage that chain and I'm certain that you'll use it again and again in the future.  I already have.  Nice work.

Thanks a lot man.  Looking forward to seeing your build, let me know when you get some pics up.

This is why I wouldn't suggest buying five dollar chain breakers... I learned the hard way.

The breaker for my chain is like $19, so I'm kinda iffy on buying it.

I think around $850 or so, not 100% sure.
